After spending four years playing north to face China Spring, Robinson, and their counterparts, Salado heads south again to rejoin rivals Jarrell, Burnet, and Gateway along with Lampasas, Taylor, and now Marble Falls.
Coming off their 39-11 state semi-finalist run in 2023, Salado was looking to build on their recent success. The Lady Eagles completed 2024 pre-district play with a record of 23-6 including a 3rd place finish in the Georgetown tournament, runner-up at Farmersville, and tournament champions in Academy.
After dropping Tuesday's match to state finalist Liberty Hill 1-3 on Tuesday, the Lady Eagles responding in convincing fashion in the first match of district play vs Jarrell. Salado jumped out on top in the first set 25-13 behind 6 kills and 4 kills off the hands of outsides Haley Brown and Kael Wilcox respectively. The Lady Eagles would stumble in set 2 due to 14 unforced errors, but came out with a 25-21 set victory. The third and final set would be all Salado as the errors were cut to 2 and the Lady Eagles would cruise to a 25-9 victory.
Prior to the varsity match, JV Red and JV White teams would also win 2-0 to set up the program sweep.
The Lady Eagles hit the road on Tuesday, 9/17, where they will face an always challenging opening in Burnet and continue their quest to a fifth straight district championship.
