On Tuesday night, the Salado Lady Eagles (25-6, 2-0) showcased a dominating performance against the Burnet Lady Bulldogs, sweeping them in three straight sets (25-10, 26-24, 25-14) during an intense volleyball match in Burnet.
Senior outside hitter Kael Wilcox led the Lady Eagles' offensive charge with 14 kills, while junior middle blocker Elsie Law contributed an impressive 10 kills with a stellar .556 hitting percentage. Law's efficiency at the net played a pivotal role in Salado’s clean sweep.
Sophomore Mazzy Johnson held the backcourt steady, passing a 2.63 in serve-receive, ensuring the team remained in system throughout the match. Meanwhile, senior middle blocker Macy Morris was a force at the net, racking up 7 total blocks, making it difficult for Burnet to establish any offensive momentum.
Defensively, senior libero Shelby Hollywood was solid, leading her team with 13 digs, while freshman setter Charli Niu made her mark with 32 assists, orchestrating Salado's high-powered offense.
JV Red (1-1) lost 2-0 while the JV White (2-0) defeated Burnet 2-1.
