The Eagles varsity football team defeated Geronimo Navarro last Friday 28-21. This puts us at 1-1 in district play. We played tremendous defense and had a couple outstanding plays on offense that won us the game. A couple key moments in the game: forcing an interception right before half-time (Brody Schiller), and then completing a deep ball from Lincoln Hossfeld to Korbin Konarik for a TD to end the half. Later in the game, we had an offensive drive that lasted almost 8 minutes. It was impressive that the Salado Eagles won the time of possession battle and had more rushing yards versus a slot-T offensive team.
I am especially proud of our “SEDNA” players of the week. They are defensive players that weren’t involved in the game plan much due to the scheme of the other team’s offense. They stepped up and played scout team O-Line to give our defense a great scout look all week. That epitomizes what I want out of really good teammates - exemplifying our SEDNA!!
